We are a safeguarding school and take our responsibilities to protect our children extremely seriously. It is our statutory duty to report any concerns we have by following the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children's Board procedures. A copy of our Child Protection Policy is available in the Policies section of this website.
We are all very proud of Lodge Farm, and I hope that you will come to share that feeling with us. It is a real privilege to be Headteacher of such a great school, and I am looking forward to working in partnership with you.
My philosophy is a very simple one: your children only get one chance at education and we all have a responsibility to ensure their time at Lodge Farm is the best it can possibly be; providing them with opportunities to achieve the best they possibly can and for them to develop into the best young people they can possibly be.
I was given this lovely poem by a friend when she visited her daughter’s school. I feel it reflects the powerful and successful relationship which can be shared between home and school. I hope you enjoy it too.
By Ray A. Lingenfelter
I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
if she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
and behind the teacher stood the home!
